Psychological Manual For Firearms Owner

Juarez Giocondo publishes a text of the Costa Rican psychologist Walter Vargas Valverde and copyrights are reserved in the National Register of intellectual property. Psychological Manual for the owner of firearms. Guide to awareness. This manual is a guide for the average citizen who daily faces the street criminals, in your car, at home, at work, in short, on all sides. I hope these questions and considerations help to clarify the true motivations that underpin the desire to buy and carry a firearm. Keep in mind that carrying a weapon is to take it with you wherever you go, while holding us back to have it in place to safeguard your property. This work is the result of my experience as a psychotherapist for over 20 years, which has allowed me to develop my intuition in assessing people's reactions to extreme situations, particularly, to an aggressor. I hope this manual will prove to be conscious of unsuspected risk factors to which is exposed and faces when you have a gun in their hands. It would be invaluable through the comments and the hidden meanings in each question, at least save a human life.

Questions and considerations. 1. Must be at least one good reason for having decided to purchase a firearm. 2. If you bought the gun because he likes to carry a gun or because you are violent, get ready because your life will have a fatal outcome. It's about time. 3. If you bought the gun because he fears for his safety and that of your loved ones, you've ruled out other protective measures are insufficient for you. Likewise, if you bought it to protect their property, used primarily to protect the his home, except you play as a private security officer or personal care business, right? 4. Try to list the reasons that motivated schools to purchase the firearm. 5. Talk to any owner of a firearm on the reasons that motivated him to buy it. Then compare and contrast their own reasons to that person. 6. Try to discern some emotions that underlie their decision to purchase a firearm: fear, anger, anger, revenge, anxiety, anguish, panic, joy, peace and security. 7. Do they correspond to the reasons for their feelings? First comment: If you clear your emotions and the respective reasons, then, should be reassured of owning a firearm. But, if you bought the gun driven only by their emotions, therefore, they take control of his will and decisions when shooting.

Comment Two: if at any time was physically assaulted by an offender or perpetrator, and also was threatened or injured with a firearm, you may not be a good candidate to own and use a firearm, due to post-traumatic reactions to which they may be facing internally or can be activated by the attacker or a potentially violent situation you remove your heart disease. In a case like this, you could use the weapon driven by fear and the instinct for survival. Another variant of its response would be to paralyze and do not react properly. Hopefully, these considerations could discuss with someone who has never owned a firearm. Finally, talk to a woman. 8. When he went to the armory found many weapons, and probably imagined usándolas.9. Did you ever imagine shooting? 10. To shoot one by one? 11. Did you ever imagine someone defending themselves? 12. Did you ever imagine chasing him? 13. Did you ever imagine saving a loved one? 14. Did you ever imagine defending any of your belongings? 15. Did you ever imagine wounding his assailant? 16. Did you ever imagine that killed one or more people? 17. Did you ever imagine shooting wounded? 18.

Did you ever imagine shooting without thieves were injured? 19. Did you ever imagine that his gun was powerful and that the bullets came bearing to your enemy to destroy it? Comment third, many people imagine scenarios where the firearm used, especially those who have suffered direct attacks through the weapon tried to avoid being victimized again. In contrast, those who fantasize about virtual sets, fed by fiction and influence of the media, can react to a threatening event of lower rank as if it were an extreme situation. 20. Any significant person in his life inspired him to buy the gun? Who? What did he say? Comment fourth, some victims of violence, develop an overwhelming anger that leads them to buy a gun for revenge against the offender. Usually, the outcome is fatal, even both may die in the enfrentamiento.21. Is that person you sowed images of violence to justify the purchase of the weapon? 22. Did you buy the gun because it led TV? 23. Any movie or TV series in particular influenced you? 24. For you, a good movie is one in which blood predominates, bullets, explosions, injuries and deaths?

25. Or do you prefer those in which an evil master, subjects and kills his victim? 26. Do you spend hours and hours practicing violent video games? Comment five: the films and exhibit violent fables guns as "toys? that allow the characters magically solve problems without negative consequences for the murderer. It is as if we were to say that without firing weapons can not live safe and sound. Not because they have more guns in the streets, a society becomes more secure, however, may raise a weapon effect, ie, violence increases. The interactive games (video games) can condition the mind of the player to a "point and shoot? against any potential enemy. Anyone can spot the large amount of violent television shows that daily invade our homes, and most of them, many adults come out firing in the name of any command. It seems that the ideology behind the television production, aims to get used to the violence and that the best reaction is to shoot before being killed. Comment sixth, a powerful section of the adult society tries to train the children as willing to produce, distribute, maintain and manage violence in the future society.

Even today many of the characters in the television series bodies look worthy of fashion magazine models in combination with a few hours in the gym. This makes it more attractive to crime and violence, no matter where it comes from, it's always the same, all and live only to kill it. 27. How often do you read a newspaper while commenting on the news violent ends to justify the need to exterminate criminals? 28. Did he suggested a radio program in which people felt that society should arm themselves for the war on crime? Comment Seven: I am convinced that the mass media predispose some reactions of citizens to certain imaginary scenarios potentially dangerous. The interaction between the viewer's mind and the information that comes through media proliferation generates latent imaginary scenarios and without conscious control of the receiver, and when something real is presented to the viewer, what it does is activate any of these scenarios stored in the mind. The reaction is emotional and automatically against the threatening stimulus. Eighth Comment: not only the criminals have no training in the use of weapons, honest citizens also can be taken by impulsive and instinctive reactions when using a firearm. In short, people are scared on both sides.

Comment ninth: the "rut? through the mass media can help relieve the discomfort with impotence, but I think we need changes in the law for criminals to stop going to walk to the prisons. In this partnership, citizens committed to the development and welfare of this country, we must find and develop other mechanisms to resolve conflicts without firing a shot.

Think what he did after buying the gun. Especially, acknowledge how you feel about the gun in his possession, perhaps, is your mood has changed? 29. Do not you feel the fear before? 30. Do you feel more courageous than before? 31. Now believe you will respect more than before? 32. Do you feel a huge relief? Comment tenth: the ideology of gun tells us to sleep with a gun under the pillow you sleep will recover, and those nightmares in which a thief entered your home in the middle of the night, they will disappear or at least the dynamics dream content and include other party (you) shooting at the robber who shot fall. Eleventh Comment: Someone told me that his anger against a security officer who kicked him out of a bar for being drunk, took him to buy a firearm for the sole purpose of looking for that guard and challenge him to shots. Fortunately, the event was not over, because of the problematic client's friends stopped him. You know, it must have adequate psychological preparation and shooting to face an unarmed or armed assailant. You know, that once pulls out the gun, the consequences are unpredictable, especially if you're a novice or is poorly trained to use firearms.

33. How does an attacker if you notice that you point the gun? 34. Have you considered that the person pointing may be a criminal expert? 35. What if your attacker is a murderer? 36. What if your attacker is a fearful and cowardly murderer who goes mad when he sees you pointing? 37. What if a murderer is calm and trained to deal with its pointing? 38. What if your attacker is under the influence of drugs and alcohol? 39. What would any of the above? 40. ¿Shoot? 41. Where direct his shot? 42. You would control your emotions ¿at that time? 43. Would you try to threaten him before shooting? 44. Would you mandate that litter the ground? 45. Do you shout and intimidate? 46. And if you feel more frightened than he? 47. What if you shoot driven by fear? 48. Do you know how to disable your attacker without firing impulse? 49. Does it point, would be able to persuade him to desist from aggression against you? 50. How do you talk to an aggressor in these circumstances? 51. Are you mentally and emotionally prepared to shoot and wound? 52.

Are you mentally and emotionally prepared to shoot and kill? 53. How do you trained? 54. Where was he trained? 55. Who trained them? 56. Have you ever thought you could become the aggressor? 57. What if you shoot with bad address injures or kills an innocent man? 58 What if I can shoot on time and take away the gun? Twelfth Comment: Some experts believe that humans are not murderers by nature, but can be trained to kill in the case of the military. In the case of armed civilians, the risk is that they can be conditioned to shoot driven their emotions. People are considered rigorously trained and mentally prepared to use a weapon will be less likely to commit a crime. People with little or no training and mental preparation will be more likely to commit a crime. 59. ¿Carrying the weapon when you drink liquor? 60. ¿Carrying the weapon when drinking alcohol and other drug consumption? 61. Do you still think you can figure out how to use a gun properly under the influence of drugs? Thirteenth Comment: When a person displays a firearm in public places, and especially if alcohol consumption, it becomes a threat and a provocation. Even on weekends happens an increase in weapons accidents and incidents of fire. This phenomenon may be related to the holidays, when consumption of liquor and drugs is triggered, and in parallel, criminals take advantage of the holidays and the neglect of citizens to storm their homes.

When the social climate gives way for the fun and waste material, it seems that the greed of criminals increases. That is, when most people are partying, most at risk at the hands of criminals. Fourteenth Comment: Some evidence of honest citizens and responsible with their lives, testify that in a drunken has pulled his gun to shoot the roof of the enclosure where they are, only for the purpose of expressing their clamor, without measuring any of these may attack or shoot back. My recommendation is that if you regularly consume drugs, and abusing them, it should be, or carry firearms. Remember that if you abuse substances may have a psychiatric background at least. Of course, these considerations excludes those psychopaths. In case of an ex - addicted to alcohol or other drugs, should undergo a thorough analysis and correction of his personality before they have and carry a firearm. Contact a professional in psychology that will provide the necessary treatment, patient and detailed. A treatment to study the personality and seeks a profound change takes time, is not simply motivation.

Stop drinking and substance use is a big step, but do not automatically authorized to keep and bear arms as if nothing had happened in your life. 62. How would you react if your wife or girlfriend he brings a claim for domestic violence? 63. ¿Would respect the precautionary measures? 64. Does it anger verbally threaten and dominate? 65. Is the strike? 66. Would you shoot your wife? 67. ¿Murder his wife and mother of his children? 68. ¿Murder his wife and commit suicide? 69 Are you of those men who do not wrinkle to anyone, much less to a woman? 70 Does he deserve his wife's murder you just because you feel offended? 71 For you the lives of others and yours is worth shit? 72. What if she says she does not love him? 73. What if she says she loves another man? 74. How would you react if separate after she decides to leave with another man? 75. How would you react if she wants a divorce and alimony? 76. Do you think being a man his life is worth more than a woman? 77. ¿Verbally abused women before buying the gun?

78. Have you beaten a woman before you buy the gun? If you are a woman (from question 78 through 88), and want to buy a gun, consider the following: 79. Do you feel fear or hatred toward her husband or partner? 80. Did he assaulted? 81. Did you verbally assaulted? 82. Do you verbally and physically assaulted? 83 Do you humiliated in any way? 84. In your anger and jealousy towards him, he has hidden personal items, money or destroyed something that belongs? 85. Will your jealousy has led to open threats against another woman? 86. Have you beaten up by jealousy? 87. Have you ever wanted to commit suicide if he leaves? 88. Have you ever attempted suicide? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, I advise you to seek psychological help. 89. Were you taught since childhood that the government and all state authorities are corrupt and contemptible? 90. Are you convinced that the only people of value to you in the world are their families? 91. What you really do not care what happens to others, only cares about what happens to you and perhaps to yours? 92. Have you ever, driven by his anger, he fell from his car to insult and challenge the other driver for any inconvenience that you awarded?

93. Have you ever hit another person and fled? 94. Are you of those who preach, but gives the example of what he says? 95. Do you usually, you have fantasies hostile to anyone who takes the field in a row, or charges you more than necessary, or not healthy? Fifteenth Comment: If you do not respect and admire not to anyone in the world, especially to those who have more authority than you should consider that you might react violently when you put a limit on their behavior. Comment sixteenth, some ordinary people and are honest and responsible lives mishandling of their emotions, especially when driving your car. These people are able to look for a fight against any driver, usually against another man. These drivers creep problems personality which reach their peak of expression when a driver encounter them hinders transit on any road or the other driver will claim your driving, and in either case, the driver knows how violent reactions as for time: taunt his opponent as if it were the most serious offense that has happened in your life. At that time the driver comes into play violent life and other innocent, because no matter who accompanies him, and the stupidest of all, the driver assumes that the other violent insults on purpose or you want to offend their dignity, but not rationally understand what happens. Only a fool reacts angrily and is able to leave the car Otherwise hit the car and the person driving it. The worst thing is that any time you can find another fool like him or you may encounter an armed criminal or that the incident in which a pair of motorcycle subjects will obstruct the pitch is really an assault in progress.

Seventeenth Comment: I think that the way how people drive your car, is a good predictor of how they would use a gun if they had to do guided by anger and fear. For example, many drivers drive as if it were a gun carriage Deadly throw it cuts you how transient, stand it on other cars, you honk the urban walkers as if they were verbally abused, run like crazy through the streets without considering that they can kill an innocent person. The car will power the driver flange, almost like a weapon, because it can intimidate anyone hitting or pretending that it will run over. Drivers are guided by thugs anger and fear, and are cowards. An associated factor that would increase the aggressiveness of the driver is exacerbated his machismo, it is known that these men are considered untouchable. 96. What if he respects and admires not persons in authority over you, then, could respect the less you think you? 97. Have you been imprisoned by physical violence? 98. Have you ever heard someone boasting of his exploits with firearms?

99. Have you been talking to someone who says that killing another person just to see? 100. Have you been talking to someone who announces that murder is like drinking water for him? Eighteenth Comment: it is common in the environment of the bars and cantinas, that men talk of situations that afflict even come to express hatred and violence against men and women who have made them feel bad. Many people are put to any liquor, but because they need to drink at low cost, well, whatever reason it does come to a place of these, you should consider that some of these sites gangs gather to relax after committing some crime or plan the next shot or look for one victim in the same place. Notice where and who gets around, and if you have questions about the type of people who share with you, then, leave the site. Especially not hesitate, if someone starts to use aggressive and vulgar vocabulary, the more alcohol they consumed the aggressor, the closer to exploit. Also friends with whom departe drinks at a table, bar or party, may be potential aggressors and murderers, so be sure to get to know people who share with you, and particularly knows "the booze? usually gives them. Not surprisingly, some people are said to have drunk "a very ugly booze?, which simply means they are problematic when they drink. Now imagine one of those people with a gun in his hands , would you be in good hands or not?

Nineteenth Comment: common criminals prefer women because they consider them more vulnerable. Also applies to the elderly and children. Twentieth Comment: Do not trust what people say it is, must also assess what people do and feel. The inconsequential people abound, therefore, should people look at his side, predictable, focused, mature and humble towards life. Twenty-first Comment: In many environments, people choose to behave irreverent, quirky, and despise the behavior measured. The environments excessive sexual behavior, drugs and alcohol, are conducive to criminals and lawbreakers, Did the criminals choose to go on Sundays to hear the National Symphony Orchestra? Or choose to read a book to a child on a Saturday night? I do not intend to establish that moral behavior adjusted to the religious or of conduct attached to the cultivation of the soul is the only way to live and enjoy, but I prefer people fully balanced, and not the heartless and unchecked. Comment twenty-second: his criminal record is a predictor of behavior. Yes, although many do not like to hold this view, the reality in many forms confirms that we are what we have done over time by means of acts, although some people have reclaimed their lives, they have through a change of consciousness, and this is not the overnight and much less alone. Those who change only to avoid major problems remain in the bottom thereof.

Comment twenty-third, if attacked with fists or other objects to another person, imagine what would a firearm in his possession. Take care, you can be a very dangerous person in the middle of a state of rage or anger. 101. Have you ever been arrested, prosecuted and convicted for violence in any form? Twenty-fourth Comment: If you have served his sentence and want to buy a gun, better desist from it. You have not proven reliable, nor sensible, nor supportive of their society. You're dangerous, and should devote his life to rehabilitate and give yourself a chance to live and serve others. 102. Would you like to play with his gun? 103. Will provide? Twenty-fifth Comment: Remember, the gun is yours, you are responsible for the use of it. The gun is not a toy, and never allow anyone to tamper unnecessarily, much less if there are other people in the site. Twenty-sixth Commentary: Do not allow any person with emotional problems handling a firearm, much less if you are under the influence of drugs. Comment twenty-seventh: the human mind has changed and also the conception of reality.

The subjectivity of each is an infinite ocean of experience, but not only is a private space that has an owner. It is a network of meanings that reconfigures at every moment, and it plays a fundamental role the mass media. The mind does not work like a machine, or as a computer, by contrast, is a living, dynamic and changing. Always ready to adjust to changing external reality will demand, and responds according to their degree of development and evolution. Therefore, we no longer speak of a human mind, but of many different minds. In this sense, human minds flourish is not equivalent to subjectivities. Just as there are minds that specialize in learning how to do evil and crime, there are also good and intelligent and can learn to solve and deal with potentially dangerous situations in a correct manner. If you think you have a personality problem and a mess to manage anger, seek professional help with a qualified psychology graduate and a member of the Professional Association of Psychologists of Costa Rica.
