As the protein in milk helps the Rehydration after exercise
We all know that during exercise, sweat losses exceed fluid intake, and that many individuals end the year in a state of hypo-hydration. The purpose of this study was therefore to examine the specific effects of milk protein in rehydration after exercise in the heat.
Eight healthy male subjects volunteered to participate in this study, which was approved by the Nottingham Trent University School of Science and Technology Ethical Advisory Committee. The physical characteristics of the subjects are as follows: 21 years of age, height 1.78 m and with body mass of 75.7 kg
The results of this research indicate that, following a 1.9% reduction in body mass by intermittent exercise in a hot environment, 40 g / l of carbohydrates, 25 g / l of milk protein solution was retained better than a 65 g / l solution of carbohydrates, when the volume of fluid ingested is equivalent to 150% of the total loss of exercise-induced mass loss.
